I was a teenager again and o had friends over my house watching movies. We were in the movies. In one movie I picked stuff up off the ground but it was a serial killers offering and when he came to kill me he did not because I prayed for mercy. And the show ended in the police interrogation room where the killer explained why he didn’t kill me. Then I wasn’t in the movie anymore and Everyone was asleep except for me and Victor, but he wasn’t trans yet bc we were younger and he went by Hannah. She was showing me pictures from her book. Some from her childhood but another was an ex she had. It wasn’t anyone from real life that she knew. I got sucked into the memory that she was telling me about how she got drunk with him doing a cosplay together and then laughed at him cuz he had a small penis. Then we were back in the room and everyone including her was asleep. Each time I came back from the movie or memory the room was more disheveled. Then the last movie came on. I hadn’t gotten sucked into it yet but everyone was leaving. One girl I didn’t recognize had a deep talk with me but I don’t remember about what. I remember feeling calmed by her presence. When she left I turned to the movie and it was about these 4 kids who were making money by throwing a party that had shroom pills as the drug for the party. They were handing them out as party gifts but doing it by dancing on the kids cars and throwing them in with regular candy. Then I suddenly got sucked out of the movie. There was an Elmo doll in my room that I didn’t recognize, I had assumed it was my sisters from childhood or one of my friends because I never cared for Elmo. When I touched it I got thrown back into the original movie where I was about to be killed. And then I came back to my room and I threw Elmo to the other side of the room. He started talking to me, saying that it wasn’t gonna be easy to get rid of him. Then he made me FaceTime the girl I had a nice talk with and was messing with her too. She was my real age with children and I couldn’t help the children. I got sucked into her house and was trying to calm her down but she kicked me out and I ended up outside with this neighbor guy who was hiding from the cops cuz they thought he did it. And then when I told him I believed him I got sucked back into my room. And I thought maybe I could just go to sleep. So I laid down and I heard Elmo running around my room and he came and touched me again and I was like flying through the sky which I’m terrified of and I was trying to call my mom for help and Elmo said she wouldn’t be able to hear me. So as soon as I got back to my room I got up and started running to my mom. Elmo then went into the bathroom and no one was believing me. My grandma was still alive and she believed me. My mom had friends over as well and they were all drinking and laughing at me until my sister came out of the bathroom and just said “it’s real” and everyone looked alarmed and we all got sucked back into the party movie. Including my 4 friends that had been over. Then the dream got pretty normal bc the movie was at a scene where everyone was at the mall and it was the future. Most of my family wanted to try a new transportation system and I said no bc I was afraid Elmo was going to make this like a hellscape but nobody but me remembered that Elmo put us there. My beliefs were confirmed because the new transportation system halted. So it was just me and my 3 friends, except the calming presence girl was replaced by my ex best friend. And it was weird because Alex and Sam were dating but Sam is a lesbian. Anyway the dream got pretty normal from there. We were walking around the mall and I was trying to convince them that this wasn’t real and Sam (a vegetarian) said she wanted brisket. And Alex remembered that she was a vegetarian so he believed me that it was real and was trying to convince her not to eat the meat. And then Hannah came and said she was craving miso ramen because she too was a vegetarian (that would never happen in real life) and Sam remembered that she was a vegetarian so they all believed that I wasn’t making Elmo up. So we get in the car and we are all on our way to get ramen when we are hit by another car which I’m terrified of and I wake up.
This dream is rich with layers and symbolism that touch on themes of fear, unresolved emotions, identity, and connection. Here's a detailed interpretation of the various elements in your dream:
Teenage Environment and Friends: Returning to your teenage years suggests a desire to revisit a time of simpler responsibilities or unresolved issues from that period of life. The presence of friends hints at interpersonal relationships and the roles they played in shaping your identity.
Movies and Being in Them: Movies symbolize stories we tell ourselves or situations we're observing rather than directly participating in. Being part of the movie might indicate that you are more involved in these situations than you think, struggling with particular narratives or roles in your life.
Serial Killer and Mercy: The serial killer can represent a demanding or threatening aspect of your life from which you seek escape or resolution. Praying for mercy and being spared suggests your reliance on faith, hope, or an internal moral compass to navigate these threats.
Interrogation Room and Explanation: The discussions in the interrogation room suggest introspection – an attempt to understand why certain fears or threats (represented by the killer) haven’t overwhelmed you, likely due to your inner resilience or past decisions.
Victor/Hannah and Memory: This highlights themes of identity and transformation, reflecting either your understanding or empathy towards someone's journey in finding their true self. The dive into memories could indicate emotions tied to nostalgia or past judgments.
Disheveled Room: The increasingly messy room can signify a cluttered mind or unresolved chaos in your life that amplifies each time you return to reality from escapist fantasies (movies or remembered stories).
Elmo Doll: Toys like Elmo often signify childhood innocence or neglected aspects of your childhood. Here, Elmo might personify an unaddressed issue that has been unsettling or pursuing you throughout different phases of your life. It’s significant that this character becomes menacing, suggesting something once comforting is now a source of fear.
FaceTiming the Calming Presence and Transformation: The girl who provided comfort and later became inaccessible suggests a lost piece of healing or support you’re struggling to connect with. Her having children and your inability to help reinforce feelings of helplessness or distance from what grounds you.
Flying and Helplessness: Flying in dreams can showcase aspirations, escapism, or fear of taking control. Your terror here indicates vulnerability and fear of the unknown, despite seeking help (calling your mom).
Grandmother’s Belief and Mom’s Party: Family dynamics play a role, with your grandmother's belief providing validation, contrasting your mother's dismissive behavior. The shift in belief when your sister confirms reality reflects the strength of familial bonds and shared experiences in confronting fears.
Mall and Transport System Scene: The futuristic mall and transport system might signify your views on progress, societal changes, or transitions you're hesitant to take due to past anxieties or the persistence of unresolved fears represented by Elmo.
Food Choices and Identity: The sudden cravings for foods against personal principles hint at identity crises or shifts, where parts of yourself or your friends defy self-expectations, supporting your struggle to face realities or truths.
Car Accident and Waking Up: Car crashes typically symbolize loss of control or confrontation with fear. Waking up immediately afterward suggests these are immediate anxieties you fear facing in consciousness, drawing a parallel between vulnerability and realization in waking life.
Overall, your dream blends profound aspects of fear, identity, and perception with unique, fantastical elements to create a vivid narrative of the challenges you face and the defenses you've built—intertwined with hopes of reconciliation and understanding both internally and within your relationships.
